  1. Hi AussieDude, Thanks for replying, I must add that the DUI and traffic offences all happened at the same time so the driving whilst disqualified was the second time I offended and the judge at the time was fairly understanding at the time.
  2. Hi All, I was in Australia on my 1st WHV in 2012/13 I was 21 at the time. I was caught driving on the lower end of mid-range PCA (0.09) for which I received a court imposed fine and 9 months disqualification of my licence and a criminal conviction for this, I also received traffic infringement fines for speeding, no rego and no insurance (I was driving a work colleagues car and was under the impression there was rego and insurance). Four months later I was caught driving whilst disqualified and received a court imposed fine and mandatory 2 year disqualification of my licence, the judge was fairly lenient to me on this occasion as he understood the circumstances I was in at the time (inadequate living conditions as i had taken the car into town to get internet to look for a new place to stay). Soon after this I left Australia as my fines had reached about $5400 and I had insufficient funds to pay them. Fast forward around 6 years to now and I have decided I would like to try and go back to Australia on my 2nd year WHV (I have the required regional work done and evidence to prove such), I have recently just paid off the fines which cost a total of $5405 and applied for the 2nd year WHV and attached a copy of my Australian Police Clearance Certificate which only shows the DUI. In the 6 years since I have came home I have went back to university and acquired a Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Bachelors of Science in Electrical Energy Management and a Masters of Science in Software Engineering, and I have currently been working for a huge multinationaI IT company for nearly 3 years. I have no other convictions before or since the DUI and have requested a copy of my PCC from my home country (Ireland) and a copy of my driving record which is clean, I am going to attach these to my WHV application. I am hoping to go out there with my current partner who is going out to work as a nurse. I am hoping the fact that this happened 6 years ago when I was 21 will help my case. My question is what are the chances I am denied a visa on character grounds? Do you think my case will be referred to VACCU for a single DUI? Any information you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks
