    De facto partner visa

Can we ask for the condition not to be put on the visa so that we can apply for the partner visa in Australia?

    De facto partner visa

Is this doable? Any feedback welcomed please. My partner and I are going to register our de facto relationship in Queensland. Do we need to do this before we apply for the partner visa? In January he will apply for another visitor visa. This will be his third visitor visa. Once the visitor visa is granted he will come to Australia for 3 months. During this time he will apply for the 820 partner visa. Is this the correct one? After he applies for the partner visa: 1. How long can he stay in Australia for? 2. Is he allowed to work? 3. What costs are involved other than the visa fee?

Confused between different Australian partner visas

Can you clarify what you mean please. If we register our relationship, do we not then meet the de-facto criteria. What is the purpose then of registering our relationship if we don't?

Confused between different Australian partner visas

Hello, I am following this post Registering relationship in NSW for de facto partner visa I would like to know whether this is something that we can do. However, I live in Queensland and not NSW. Think post appears to relate to NSW only.

Confused between different Australian partner visas

thanks for the clarification. from what I am reading, it would seem that the prospective marriage visa is our only option at this stage. i understand that he will have to apply for this in his country, but can he then visit me in Australia on the bridging visa?

Confused between different Australian partner visas

thanks so much for the information. Can I ask why we wouldn't meet de facto if we have been in relationship for 13 months?
  9. i'm a little confused between the different Australian partner visa options that may be available. I'm 38 Australian citizen by birth. My partner is 29 and Indonesian citizen (lives in Bali). We have been in a relationship for 13 months. I met him whilst I was holidaying in Bali and have been back to see him 3 times since we first met. He was also granted a 3 month tourist visa which I supported in August, and he travelled to Australia from 15 August to 5 November. During his time in Australia our relationship grew to the extent that we became engaged on the 27 October. What partner visa options do we have available to us? The immigration website falls way short of providing any quality information. I am confused between 309 and the 820 visa as they seem to be exactly the same, and also do we qualify for a de facto visa as we have been in a relationship for over a year. Then there is the prospective marriage visa. I'm so confused here. any help appreciated!!
