hii..

i am indian and have applied for spouse visa on 8th august 2013 and medical was done in the same month.

i have still not received the visa yet.

is there anyone who has applied in the same month?

Hi,

I am an Indian too. I have applied for partner visa on 13th June, 2014 and I did the medical on April 2014 itself. Its been 6 weeks till now since I had applied for my visa and I haven't heard from them as yet. My husband is in Australia. I am waiting to join him. I have not been assigned with an officer yet. How about your case? I am thinking of getting a visitors visa to meet my husband. Can I apply for a visitors visa while my partner visa is still in process?? Anyone please advice me on this. I find it very difficult to live away from my husband. We are yet to start our wedded life. He left to Australia soon after our wedding.

ok.. to anitha.. yes u can come here for a holiday.. but must be back in india when the visa is granted.. so you have plenty of time.. he can sponsor you and (as i did) offer to pay any "return bond" they want ensuring you will return to india to await the partner visa.. you dont need to do this but i will not hurt to offer.

closchutz..yep i think it will... my fiance is chinese.. we were told granted in 6/7 months.. not opened until 8 months, now told 4/5 more months. sorry but do not believe anything they tell you.

well our application has been lodged online (told do not do on paper application in december 2013 because it is slower)  and now 8 months to open it. told to change the wedding date to beyond jan 2015 because you "wont get it before then" ?????? but it is august now.

my point... DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO CONVINCE YOU TO DO ONLINE APPLICATION. fiance is very upset 2 others , same city, paper lodged march and april 2014.. APPROVED this week!

Hey guys,

PMV lodged 12/02/2014

Medical done 3 weeks later

10/07/14 req for more info, original police check

Replied to CO that we have give. That document already with a photo of the receipt from VfS

12/07/14 reply from CO that police check has been located

Now have heard nothing almost 7 months not even in the queue yet or anything......

Also CO isn't too great doesn't reply what so ever to anything

Fiance is Thai and I'm Australian, was hoping she would be here by the 10.5month mark for her first Christmas with my family, however now I am starting to be doubtful

Cheers

Jayden

Hi, all. Fiance and i submitted the PMV application on 26th of June, nothing received from them yet. He is in South Africa and i am an Aus perm. resident. We have been in a long distance relationship for the past 4years, i am bordering insanity and the relationship is strained, not to mention pressure from family. 6-9 months is how long i was told the process will take (when i called to enquire yesterday), and was wondering if its a good idea for me to resign from my job in Aus, move to S.A and be with him until the visa is granted?? will this affect my claim that i can support him, since i would be looking for emplyment in s.a?? please help.

Hello Everyone,

Im from the Philippines.

My Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) is already lodged via my Visa Agent in Australia.

I am now scheduled for my medical examination this 15th of September.

I just want to ask, based on those who have finished this visa process especially to my fellow filipina if present here, whats the next step? Or how long is the visa granted after the medical exam?

Just curious though.

Thanks

hi fatimtim ,

there is no relation to when you have done medical and visa being granted , everyone does there medicals early on in the process but PMV visas are running slow at the moment and no PMV visas from 2014 have been approved yet , so a few of us on here have lodged in January and February and still no visas granted yet unfortunately.  Have you only just lodged your visa application recently ?

regards Andy

Hi fnajjar

I applied for a prospective marriage visa the 26th of november 2012 and after that I got married in lebanon on the 3rd of august 2013 bcz my wife parents went for a holiday to lebanon and the visa didnt came. So we had to change the application to partner visa. The agent said that wont affect my visa process. I changed it on the 3rd of september 2013. My wife stayed waiting for the visa with me in lebanon till 13 of june 2014 and after that she couldnt wait bcz her flight ticket was going to expire. I applied for a tourist visa and went with her to sydney. Ive been here for 3 months now and the visa didnt come yet. They told me the visa process starts from the beginning when you change the application to partner. So it actually started the 3rd of september 2013 one week after your application.

Let me know what happens with you and good luck for both of us...

There are a number of reasons that the processing time can change or be longer including the embassy (some embassies have less staff for visa processing) and the time of year (influx of visas to process or financial years).

The processing time is set at 12 months according to the embassy but my friends were able to get Case Officers within 4-5 months with the completion within 2-3 months post getting a CO. It's good to be persistent and contact them preferably on the phone.

Also make sure you have all the correct documents ready in your immi account profile so that once you get a CO it's at least quicker from there.

A few sites which may help are below:

Hi Marco, thanks for the links, just wanted to point out that the last one (my australian visa) seems to be quite outdated, just to not mislead others... application fees for PMV are now almost $8000 so nowhere near the $3975 they claim to be.. also I fear the processing times they claim at around 4 to 6 months are obsolete too :'( we applied for our not long ago and still trying to pay off the massive debt we got into..

I believe Australia Immi still have the best protection so far although the long process could frustrate applicant but I think is far better to protect the country from dangerous applicant by Koollife James Kolawole
