spouse requirements explained

I have heard that there will be a change for the sponsorship application that the sponsor must have income of 80K/ month or above... Has any one heard of this ?

Those rumours have been around for many years.  Unless someone can provide an official source ignore the someone's cousins aunties dog said. 

The bill that was passed is focusing on kerbing domestic violence and mentioned about extending the sponsor obligations from 2 to 4 years and looking at repercussions for failure to do so. 

Still waiting for it to flow through to be actioned so no one can say anything with any real authority.

The bill did not get up in November, sent back for a minor redraft.  Hansard indicates it will go before Session 3 March 2019.
