Student Dependent Visa Subclass 573

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. My wife is in student visa in australia and currently studying MPA in australia. She had lodged student dependent visa for me from australia on 7th of October. I got acknowledgement from high commission new delhi stating that they recieve application on 7th october and advise me would take 10-12 weeks. I belong to AL 3 country and my initial understanding is the processing time is 90 days for AL 3 countries. But till now I havent heard any thing from high commission. When Shall I expect to get my visa? How long does it take its almost 14 weeks now. Any advise how long should I have to wait still?

Hi friend

I am also in the same situation as or  yours.  My wife is in Australia and I am in India.  I lodged my file just two days before yours. i m also on AL3.  Till date i also have not rec any reply from the Department.  At their website it is 75% of their processing is done in 90 days for AL3 and AL4.  I hope still few days might be remaining for the   next 25% of this.  I think stil 1-2 months can be expected.  Be patient n also keep updated on this post if u rec any reply.

No brother...

As I have called up on 16 jan, what i suggest u 2 make a call at the High Commission to enquire about what they are saying.  This will also help both of us.
Make sure u call up at 9 am in morning.  If u r lucky u will get connected 2 the executive in 5 min, or might take upto 25 min, but u will 100% reach
 the call.

Do keep updated.....

As u called on 16 Jan they asked you to wait 1-2 months right? means we have to wait for another 30-45 days? lets hope for the best. is there any chances of refusing the application?

no brother.  Upto my best knowledge they will never reject unless anyone provides wrong documents, which they feel r fraud.  For temporary visas, there r very mere chances 2 reject.  hence dont worry, everything will be fine.  Just cross ur fingers as now times is near 4 both of us.  Good luck.  Just keep updated if u rec any update.

Bye..........:

hi...this is mahalakshmi..my husband joined his course in Melbourne in July. I have applied for student dependent visa on first week of November..its been more than 13 weeks now..I have called Australia visa dept around 2-3 times, but end up hearing the same stuff that it will take around 12-14 weeks & that the volume of applicants is so high that they cannot give any false hopes...but looking at this forum, it looks as if it is going to take longer :'(

hey bro,

who knows how long it is going 2 take 4 this.  well the reply i rec from DIAC New Delhi on 16 feb 2014 was 1-2 months.  Who knows what is going behind the scenes.  The executives who reply to applicant call just gives estimate timing, so v cant rely on this. so just wait n watch.

Well roshan this posted started by u will b helpful in future for people who will b applying as a student dependent.

Hello Roshan, they say the average processing time as 3 months rather say 90 days. after that we can enquire about our status with the high comission. Did you not make any enquiry? Did you apply through a consultancy or independently? I had a friend who applied in september and got it in december.

The one who applied on october has no response till date and those who applied on jan already got medical. its rediculous............hundreds of such applicant are affected....why don't the understand.......they should process the application on first come first basis.......
