I applied for my NZ Citizen Family member visa in the beginning of June 2017 from Australia. When I applied the processing time for 90% of applicants was 8 months. Now, this processing time has jumped to 11 months. Does anybody know if I will be in the former bracket (8 months, when I applied) or now the latter? I tried emailing the visa centre in Sydney almost 2 weeks ago but I did not get a reply. Apart from the application acknowledgement I have not received any other correspondence. I would love to know where I am in the queue as I am unable to work while on my bridging visa and I am beyond bored (as I also found out I am not allowed to volunteer while on a bridging visa). Has anybody who applied for the 461 in May/June heard anything back?...searching for a glimmer of hope...

Applied in april 2017 AHC new delhi offshore.. processing time that time was 8 months but now it’s 11 to 16 months. They are following current visa processing timing.

Hi Mate, Did you lodge the application yourself or through an agent? My wife has recently applied for 461 with AHC New Delhi. We went through an agent with a decision ready aplication. Few days after the lodgement she was asked to provide the medical report. SHe will be doing this, this week and then our wait begins. Hoping things work out fast and we get the visa asap.

Are you based in India or Aus?

Cheers!

I applied for a 461 visa in April in Australia (while on a working holiday) and have yet to hear any response. At that time, the processing time was listed at 3-5 months. Keen to hear if anyone has been granted one recently as I see it has now jumped to 14-27 months. Imagine having to wait 2 years for a 5 year visa! They really need to start removing 6 month restrictions if this is the case. Hard enough to find work without it.

Hi mate, Any update on your application?

Did you use an agent from India or Australia?

Thanks!

What about yours?

If you don't mind me asking, is yours a straight forward case?

Thanks

I applied in July (without agent) and haven't heard anything from anyone either. My friend applied in March of 2017 with an agent and still hasn't heard anything either. Her agent keeps saying that it should get approved "soon". And they've been saying that answer for the last 4 months. It seems that every time I check the site the processing times keep increasing and they don't state if the processing times apply to only new applicants or ALL applicants.

Do you heard any grant or refusal news from anywhere in the world since april 2017 ?

I searched a lot on web but couldn’t find any.. it seems like they hold the applications for next financial year.. (july 2018-june 2019).

Few people haven’t heard anything since lodgement but in my case i got request abt medical and pcc/afp in may 2017. June 2017 they asked for 12 months health insurance, I paid $950 for 12 months already 9 months passed on and 3 months left and also got phone interview in October 2017. After that still waiting for my outcome.. AFP already expired and got new one last week if they ask again.. also medicals and indian Pcc about to expire in first week of may 2018.

No mate no news. There arent many forums discussing 461 visa. Maybe your delay could be the complexity of your case that you mentioned previously. But still seems like a long time.

Hope you get yours soon. Any way your agent can check with them? Is ur agent based in aus or india?

I know one of my friend applied 461 from new zealand and they got it in 6 months time. he applied himself no agent...straightforward case.

I'm still waiting on my application to be processed. Haven't been contacted since the email stating they received my application. Applied to the Sydney office in April with a straight forward case from a low risk country.

Can communicate with my CO straight away bcoz of agent.. my wife thinking to email my CO But not sure if it’s good or bad to talk to CO like this..

Are you in sydney at the moment? Could the delay be because you are onshore and maybe lesser priority?

I'm in Perth. I'm on a bridging visa currently with work restrictions (From a working holiday visa) and paying a ton of tax so I hope that's not the case.
