  1. My partners travel visa ends on the 14th Feb but wants to travel to the US on the 16th - he has applied for his partner visa and BVA is active on the 15th Feb. Would he be able to apply for the BVB while on his travel visa to allow him to travel on the 16th?

    BVB question

Ok, that's what I thought originally but I got a little confused when some people said there is no guarantee he could work and worried me a little. Thanks for your reply

    BVB question

So from what I have taken from all of this is there is no guarantee of work rights until 820 is granted is that right? So basically I have to suport my partner until the 820 is granted regardless and I just have to suck it up if I am pregnant just get government financial support if I am unable to work i guess

Yes - that's exactly what I thought. Thanks

    BVB question

I was referring to because we have been together for 5 years and living together for 3. That if we could be approved for the 820 visa quicker.

    BVB question

How can we ask for a quicker result?

    BVB question

By the way we have been together 5 years - I have read that because we have been together for that time frame that the 820 can be granted sooner is that correct?

    BVB question

So either way it doesn't matter, if there are no guarantee that he can even work when he gets back. Why does it say on the website that the partner visa has full work rights and medicare. I guess that means when the actual 820 comes into affect?

    BVB question

But if he is on his travel visa does he need to apply for the BVB? Whatever the quickest way for him to be able to work for when he gets back at the end of January

    BVB question

He needs to travel back to the USA for his handicapped son's doctors appointment that is on the 14th January. I assume he can leave anytime on his travel visa without having to tell the government that he is leaving if he is still on his travel visa is that right? So when he comes back he will have an extra 3 months applied. If I am pregnant by the time he comes back can he request to work or it wouldn't matter?

    BVB question

Isn't all travel visas 3 months stay?

    BVB question

He has a handicapped son and will need to travel back to see him, so he will need to travel more than once next year.

    BVB question

His BVA should come into affect on 15th February but he wants to travel on the 12th January, so he would be on his travel visa still. So what we want to know is - when he gets back before his BVA comes into affect, does it reset the 3 months again because he left the country before the BVA can come to affect.

Sorry I'm totally new to all of this. He arrived in Sydney on the 15th November on a travel visa. We applied for the partner visa on the 17th November. We received the bridging visa notification that is not active as of yet - says no conditions.
