  1. My daughter was granted a Bridging Visa A today (08th August 2019), however, our Visitors Visa (subclass 600) expires on the 19th of August, 2019 (that's when our 3 months stay will be up). Both our visitor's visas have "Must Not Arrive After 06 May 2022" (we have multiple entry). Quick notes to consider: My husband was granted Australian Citizenship in Dec 2017 My (5-year old) daughter's application is a Child Visa app (subclass 802) - sent to WA just last weekend and received an acknowledgment PLUS BVA Grant today BVA is not in effect because Visitor visa is in effect. I will be applying for Partner Visa (820/801) in a couple of days My questions are; Is a Visitors Visa considered to be a substantive visa? If so, can my daughter travel out of Australia (before Aug 19) for a couple of weeks? I understand she will need a BVB to travel outside of Australia IF the answer to my first question is NO Travel overseas section on the bridging visa grant says, "If your substantive visa expires while you are outside Australia and you do not hold a bridging visa B, you will need to apply for and be granted a substantive visa before you can return to Australia.". What date is this "clause" referring to? (I assume it is referring to the Must not arrive after date). I hope to hear from you all soon. Cheers!
  2. Hi there, I'm looking to move to Australia from the UK on an evisitor 651 and then apply for a Partner visa onshore which should then put me on to a BVA. I work in professional services and while I know full working rights are granted on a BVA (subject to no conditions etc.), I've read a couple of posts about employers being cautious to employ BVA holders on a full time permanent basis while the outcome of the Partner visa is being decided. Just wondering if anyone has had experience of taking a full time permanent role in professional services (or something similar) while on a BVA and if they've encountered any obstacles because of this? Many thanks in advance! Dan
  3. Hello! I'm in a pretty unique situation where I am currently on Bridging Visa A, awaiting my appeal to go through for a TSS visa under the job of Retail Buyer. A colleague and I want to start a little side business of selling hair accessories. We want to apply for an ABN as a partnership in order to conduct business online and open a separate business bank account. Neither of us will technically be employed by our company as we will not be paying ourselves a salary. All profit earned will be going back into the business. Does anyone know if this is legal or if this will interfere with my visa application? Thanks!
  4. Me and my husband just few months ago back to Malaysia from Australia. When we are in the tourist visa at Australia, we apply for bridging visa, we done our thumb print and our application was approved and we get Class A. At the same time after we get bridging visa approved, on emergency purpose we leave from Australia, but we trying to contact immigration and embassy but cannot go through and we back to Malaysia (at the same time our tourist visa still valid, we are not overstay). After we back to Malaysia, we receive email stated that our visa was cancelled. Now we applying for Australia visa but we cannot get approval for visa. Is there because we applying bridging visa? if we cancel our bridging visa, can we get approval for get Australia visa again? What I should do to get Australia visa? Please assist me. Thank you
  5. Hi, I'm about to move to Australia in eight weeks and told my employer that I will be moving. (I will enter the country on a tourist visa, then apply for a Defacto Partner Visa straight away) From what I understand your status changes to a Bridging Visa A once your application for the 820/801 is lodged. My empliyer now expressed an interest in continuing a working relationship. As I obviously wouldn't want to register as self-employed in the UK (where I'm currently living) and therefore pay tax in Britain etc., I was wondering whether anyone has got any experience with registering as self-employed in Australia when on the BVA? Is this possible at all? I've tried to figure this out by googling various combinations of the topic, but I can't seem to find any info on it. Thanks everyone, any advice/help/pointing in the right direction would be massively appreciated.
  6. I am a UK citizen: applied for Proposed Marriage Visa (300) in Oct 2014 PMV granted in Sept 2015 arrived in Australia Dec 2015 we got married in March 2016 my PMV expires in June 2016 applied for Onshore Partner Visa (820/801) in May 2016 received Bridging Visa A (which will become effective when my PMV expires) My wife and I intend to take a honeymoon in December in Dubai, then go on to India for our 2nd wedding reception, for my family over there to meet my wife. The BVB web page states that it should not be applied for more than 3 months in advance of the travel date. My query: We want to plan our honeymoon, we want to plan our second reception, we (and everyone else involved) would like to book fights. Will it be ok for me to apply for the BVB early as processing times for the Partner Visa are approximated to be 12-15 months, so they won't even look at it till well after we return from India. Alternatively, if it is frowned upon for me to apply so early - is it considered highly likely that the BVB application will be approved and we should just go ahead and plan and book everything anyway? (I am an Overseas Citizen of India, so I don't need to obtain a visa to travel to India). Any help/suggestions on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
