Hi all, my fiancee was granted a Prospective Marriage Visa and we had flight tickets to enter Australia on May 22nd , 2020. She must enter Australia before July 9th or her visa is invalid and the Government is not providing refunds despite the reason she can't enter being they have closed the borders. Australia is allowing other Partner Visas to enter Australia but not our visa, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are seeking an exemption as she is now in danger where she lives due to COVID and a lack of income and healthcare. I was wondering if anyone has been successful in getting an exemption or a refund?
Hi all, My son and I were granted a subclass 100 visa from offshore last December. The visa needs to be activated by December 2020. Due to limited number of flights available and the whole pandemic, we are not sure our flight from Ireland to Australia will go ahead in July 2020. Should we not be able to fly to OZ before the visa activation expiry date, is there a way the immigration authorities may grant a time extension on it due to the current pandemic? What are my alternatives? Thank you
Hi Forum My partner of 3 and half years applied for and are still waiting on the Partnership 801 Visa that was submitted on 15th Feb 2017 She had been working as a casual kitchen hand for over 2 years and a waitress in a cafe for 6 months. She lost her job 2 weeks ago My question is, given she happily contributes by way of tax, is she eligible to claim unemployment benefits? It seems like we have fallen through the cracks on both counts as I am a semi retired bloke who was an Airbnb host (off a cliff) and a Landlord (don't ask) and she may not be eligible for any assistance Any advice would be greatly appreciated Bazza
