309 Visa Application

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Visa Application completed and sent on the 17th of June 2018, We have been assigned a case officer and they requested some additional information which has now all been submitted.

We are up to the "Further Assessment" Stage on our account and have been advised nothing else is outstanding. Everything else has now been completed!!!

Was wondering if you have any experience on timescales once you reach this point in the process...?

For info - I'm a UK Citizen

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Ryan

The below information is directly from the Department of Home Affairs website. You are still well within the Department's advised processing timeframes of 13 to 18 months (subclass 309). Unfortunately it is just a waiting game.

Circumstances that affect processing times

We will assess applications on a case-by-case basis, and actual processing times can vary due to individual circumstances including:

  • whether you have lodged a complete application, including all necessary supporting documents
  • how promptly you respond to any requests for additional information
  • how long it takes to perform required checks on the supporting information provided
  • how long it takes to receive additional information from external agencies, particularly in relation to health, character, and national security requirements
  • for permanent migration visa applications, how many places are available in the migration programme
  • for citizenship applications, the time taken to attend a Citizenship Ceremony or receive a Citizenship Certificate.

Hi,

We lodged our application August 2018 and just checked now status is still on Received. How long did you wait for a case officer to be assigned on your application?
