Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300) Waiting Room

.I heard that qouta or slot given in a fiscal year in  a certain forum,(Pinoy   Australian Information Forum)

True, there is a annual quota set down by the Government on the total number of Immigrants that will be allowed into Australia, across the various Visa classes. The quota is closed every year on June 30.  However, the day after, on July 1, the new quota for the following year takes effect.  The quota assessments (counts) are done in arrears in most cases.  In practise no one is likely to be rejected because the quota was full.  However, I mainly refer to the normal Immigration Visa's.  Special humanitarian, refugee, asylum visa's have much lower quotas and, we often see these quotas exceeded, but no one complains.  Do not worry about 'quotas'.

While I sympathise about your wait, I will point out for other readers that your situation highlights several VERY IMPORTANT points;

  • Make sure that IMMI always have your current email and postal address, plus a valid phone number
  • Always check your postal box for correspondence, as IMMI dont always use email
  • Make sure your email address is valid and operating and you check it regularly
  • Respond to all IMMI requests immediately, andy delays in your reply just adds delay to the overall visa process.
  • YOU are solely accountable and responsible for responding to IMMI on time.  IMMI do not care about floods, broken laptops, lost letters, broken phones.

Hello, good to know we are of the same boat.I heard that qouta or slot given in a fiscal year in  a certain forum,(Pinoy   Australian Information Forum)It is worrying to think of it everyday being far from him.But I have the positive thought that soon it will be approve ,same as you expect.I was asked to submit the cenomar direct to embassy last Dec.10,my laptop was not working well at that time ,so I missed the information. Then I sent email to the embassy why it took so long. There I found that I missed sending the requested document on time. And was given another chance to comply the document within 7 days.I did and keep on waiting.I had sent the cenomar more than 5 times before but lately realized that it was not in the proper procedure which should be sent direct to the embassy. But anyway we are both in the further assessment status ,not too long to wait.God is always good to answer all our prayers.I have email the embassy 5 times  just to remind them my application.Last Feb .4 I was ask to comply the updated NBI.Sad to say that my health assessment expired last March 1.

not sure about all that but you can email them asking if your health assessment is expired and they will let you know. i thought my was but they said i had more time

You can email your CO if they have been assigned.  Sending a general email to IMMI, may not be that effective.

The premise is on IMMI to accept or reject any submitted document. If IMMI reject a document based on concurrency (expiry date) or any other fact, IMMI (under law) MUST write and advise you of such a decision, AND give you adequate time to submit replacement documents.

There is this false suggestion floating around that IMMI are 'out to trip you up' or 'make things hard'.  Utter bullshit.  They want to see your application succeed, and will provide you with every (reasonable) opportunity to do so.

What I hate is the old rhetoric "IMMI cancelled my application as my Medical had expired".  But the actuality being "My medical had expired, IMMI appropriately sent me a request for a new set of medicals, I ignored the request as I had moved address and failed to advise IMMI. IMMI cancelled my application as I failed to respond.", "I blame IMMI for my own stupidity".

I hope the medical assessment goes well.  Please keep us updated if you don't mind.

Are you seeing an IMMI nominated specialist?  What country?

My medical clearance has been issued (yay!). That will hopefully be the biggest hurdle for me, and it should just be a waiting game now.

Congratulations for the medical clearance. Did your status change? What is it saying?

Thanks! Only the health assessment page changed. The main page still says “received” and “submitted”

We had set our date for January 2019 and as that has passed in March they asked us to submit a document stating we are still unmarried. We have and are wondering if we should hit the button that says- I confirm I have added all requested documents. I had not noticed it until last week and am wondering if I was supposed to push it. My fiance says to wait until they contact us again in case they need more information. Thoughts??

push it.

Hello everyone!

I lodged my application for PMV this weekend, paid the fee and was asked for health examination, which I'll get done by the end of this month. Now my fiancé and I are uploading the remaining documents like photos, bills, etc. as I attached everything else like NOIM, 888's, form 80, birth certificate etc. directly after the payment. We prepare ourselves for waiting as it is said "16 to 22 months"....*sigh*

Any encouraging news from one of you guys in here?

Looking forward to hear more "GOT IT!"'s 😃

Patience pays off I keep telling myself....

How much did you pay for your medical? Which country are you applying from?

I don't remember the exact amount. I think the original (non-specialist) medical exam was around $150 USD. Applying from USA

Congratulations! What was your timeline like and from where did you apply? As for your question, no it is not compulsory to have a return ticket.
