Bridging visa A(partner visa

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am posting this to ask some advise about bridging visa. So, before i came here with my husband we are under student visa me as the primary applicant and my husband as my dependent. Thus, months later i applied for citizenship by descent and was granted. Therefore, after 5 days we applied for partner visa because I dont want my husband to stay here in australia unlawfully then he was given a bridging visa however it was not activated and it was stated in there that it will be activated after the student visa will expires which is 2021。It does not make sense since i canceled my course and i am the primary student and my husband is not going to school. Please give some advice.

as you are a citizen and your husband is not required to register as having to study then his visa may continue to carry on unnoticed until 2021

however there is a possibility that his status as a dependant student visa holder could be cancelled as you now have the citizen status and you were originally the main student and the person required to study and maintain enrolment

keep your addresses and contact details up to date with Home Affairs and if they consider that he could be cancelled then they will send a notice of intention to cancel via post or email

until then you should have no other issues
