Extending Visitor Subclass 600

Recommended Posts

My wife who is Chinese was granted a visitor visa subclass 600 to accompany me (Australian citizen) to return to Australia recently from China (she was able to get the visa as she was coming with a direct family member/spouse).

We are now in Australia and the visa was only able to be granted for 3 months as at the time (probably still) was not possible / suitable to get a medical done in China considering the current situation with the virus (was also confirmed by dep of home affairs person processing the visa).

Considering the current situation with the virus and the uncertainty we may look to extend her visa further if possible, as there are not any conditions for 'no further stay' on the visa.

The question is whether it is possible to extend a visitor subclass 600 visa when already in Australia for a further period and if required undertake the medical in Australia,?
